Anniversary prayers

Was back in Taiping last weekend to observe anniversary prayers for father at the Buddhist temple. He had a passion for football. When I was small he often took me to watch live matches at the Esplanade. And later it was teh tarik & roti canai at the mamak shop on Market Road. Wonder if they are screening the world cup matches at his new residence....

Goodbye Jasmine....Hello Armanee!

And so it has been like 10 years at Jasmine Towers. Time really zips along. Two weeks ago we shifted to Armanee Terrace in Damansara Perdana. More space to laze around and a small garden in the sky....

Nikkor AF 85mm f/1.8D

Got hold of this 85mm lens last week. Had been itching for it for awhile. Said to be a good portrait lens, sharp at all apertures and a nice bokeh. Not much time to really test the lens but the initial shots taken hold promise. These shots were taken wide open at f/1.8 using available light at ISO800....

Peter's birthday at Avanti

My brother Peter treated us to a nice meal at Avanti, an Italian restaurant in the Sunway Hotel last Saturday night. Nice ambience and the food was good! A Filipino quartet was going round the tables serenading the diners. Seems a favourite hangout for people celebrating their birthdays. No less than 4 or 5 rounds of birthday greetings were heard! Thanks bro! Happy birthday!

Had an Argentinian malbec & later a merlot....

KL International Motor Show

I was there last night with Hamzah, a photo buddy, to capture the cars on display there. We ended up shooting more models than cars! As I've sold the Sigma 70-300 to a friend from PhotoMalaysia, had to make do with the D70s kit lens. With a 18-70mm range, it was sufficient for the event.
