Got this nifty little speedlight over the weekend. Actually designed for the Nikon D40, it can be used as a lightweight travel flash. Best part is that you can bounce the light too with a flick of the front element. Taking only 2 AA batteries, it's said to be good for 150 flashes. It's a TTL flash & intelligent enough to compensate based on the camera's settings. But it won't work on the older cameras. And you can't use it as a slave flash in CLS applications either. It'll be useful for some light fill-in applications.

This cafe in Taman Megah serves up one of the best fruit rojak in town. The sauce is heavenly and really has a spicy kick to its taste. Doubles up as a showroom for some nice wooden furniture, I found out much later the owner is from Taiping.....a gourmet's paradise!

Was testing the D200 which I got back from the Nikon service centre Saturday morning. Fixed the problem & also updated the firmware...

Dinner at Suet Fun's

Had a great dinner at Suet Fun's place in Bangsar last night. Special mention on the ikan terubuk grilled to perfection by Mike Nasir, an illustrious Tiger Putra. Another lip-smacking delicacy was the salted ikan tenggiri steamed in kunyit leaves & garnished with bird chilles, shallots & a twist of lime juice. Thanks Suet Fun, looking forward to the next one!

New Year Eve - Fireworks at The Curve

A brilliant start tp the new year. A couple of photo buddies were at my place on New Year's eve to shoot the fireworks display from The Curve & 1 Utama. My D200 unfortunately was still in the Nikon service centre to remove a particle from the viewfinder so I had to shoot with the Coolpix 5200. This shot was taken by Lai Ping with the D70s mounted with the 18-200 VR. Hopefully another great year ahead for this photography passion!
